Men's Cross Country Places Third at All-Ohio Championships

CEDARVILLE, Ohio -- Mount Union's men's cross country team posted an impressive third place finish out of 22 NCAA Division III teams at the 2011 All-Ohio Championships Friday at Cedarville University in Cedarville, Ohio.

Mount Union sophomore Joshua Clemence finished in 18th place (26:53.58) to lead the Raiders on a cold, windy and rainy afternoon in Cedarville.

Mount Union had two others finish in the top-25 as freshman Andrew Nelson (Louisville/Louisville) placed 21st (26:56.25) and junior Matt Miller (Lakewood/Lakewood) in 25th (27:03.69).

The Raiders had 138 points which left them 29 behind second place Ohio Wesleyan (107).  Fellow Ohio Athletic Conference member Ohio Northern won the event with 83 points.

Mount Union will next run on Oct. 15 at the Oberlin Regional Rumble in Oberlin, Ohio.
