Men's Cross Country Takes First at #JennaStrong Fall Classic Friday in Wilmington

WILMINGTON, Ohio – Mount Union's men's cross country team took first place at the #JennaStrong Fall Classic Friday, October 18 in Wilmington, Ohio.

The classic was in memory of Wilmington junior cross country runner Jenna Parlette. Parlette collapsed while leading the Franklin Invitational on August 31, and passed away three days later.

The Purple Raiders were paced by Dan McGeary (Worthington/Thomas Worthington) as he finished the race third out of 416 runners with a time of 25:07.86. Alex Wilson (Macedonia/Nordonia) joined McGeary in the top five with a time of 25:16.88 for a fifth place finish.

Mount Union won the event with a total of 102 points, 11 points ahead of the second place team Indianapolis. The Raiders finished first out of 36 teams.

Mount Union's men's cross country team returns to action on Saturday, November 2 as they travel to the OAC Championships in Westerville, Ohio at 11:00 a.m. hosted by Otterbein University.
