Men's Cross Country: Raiders Post Second in Season Opener at Walsh

NORTH CANTON, Ohio – Mount Union's men's cross country team placed second in the season opening Ric Sayre Invitational Friday at Walsh University.

Freshman Preston Myers (Alliance / Marlington) placed fifth in his first college meet while junior Nick Thomas (Louisville/Louisville) was in sixth to lead the Purple Raiders.

Mount Union tallied 46 points which was 17 behind race winner Walsh at 29 points.

The remainder of Mount Union team score came from senior Matt O'Neil (Woodbridge, Va. / Pope John Paul) in eighth place, junior Adam Sopchak (Chardon / Chardon) in 14th place and sophomore Colten Trimble (Hookstown, Pa./South Side Area) in 17th place.

Mount Union will be back in action Saturday, Sept. 17 at Rochester (N.Y.) Invitational.
