Men's Cross Country: Mount Union Fifth in USTFCCCA Great Lakes Region Rankings

NEW ORLEANS -- Mount Union's men's cross country team is ranked fifth in this week's Great Lakes Region rankings done by the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.

Wabash (Ind.) tops the poll followed by Calvin (Mich.) in second, Allegheny (Pa.) in third and fellow Ohio Athletic Conference member Ohio Northern in fourth.

The Purple Raiders opened their season two weeks ago placing second as the only NCAA Division III team at the Ric Sayre Walsh University Invitational.

Freshman Preston Myers (Alliance / Marlington) placed fifth in his first college meet while junior Nick Thomas (Louisville / Louisville) was in sixth to lead Mount Union.

The Raiders run this week at the University of Rochester Yellowjacket Invitational at Genesee Valley Park in Rochester, N.Y.
