Mount Union Ranked No. 1 in USTFCCCA Men's Cross Country Great Lakes Region

NEW ORLEANS -- After a pair of strong perfomances, the Mount Union men's cross country is ranked No. 1 in the Great Lakes Region by the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.

The Purple Raiders, ranked No. 5 a week ago, jumped the field after winning team and individual titles at the University of Rochester Yellow Jacket Invitational last weekend in New York.

Mount Union had three runners place in the top 10 in the field of 317 runners including individual winner Preston Myers (Alliance/Marlington). Myers also claimed OAC Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week honors for his season-best performance on the 8k course.

Mount Union next runs at the All-Ohio Championships, Friday, Sept. 30 in Cedarville, Ohio.
