Mount Union Cross Country Teams Regionally Ranked by USTFCCCA

NEW ORLEANS, La. -- Mount Union's men's and women's cross country teams are both ranked in the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Great Lakes Region Rankings this week.

The Mount Union men's team jumped up three spots from last week to No. 5 in this week's rankings after a second place finish at the Tiffleberg Open.

Seniors Adam Sopchak (Chardon/Chardon) and Nick Thomas (Louisville/Louisville) have been the Purple Raiders top two runners on the season and finished sixth and seventh respectively at the Tiffleberg Open.

The women's team entered the rankings for the first time this season at No. 7 after a second place finish at the Tiffleberg Open.

Junior Hilary Reigle (Madison/Madison) had a career-best second place finish at the Tiffleberg Open to lead the Raiders.

Mount Union next runs at the All-Ohio Championships Friday, Sept. 29 at Cedarville University in Cedarville.
