Men's Cross Country: Mount Union Selected 8th in USTFCCA Great Lakes Preseason Poll

NEW ORLEANS, La.— The Mount Union men's cross country team was selected eighth in the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Great Lakes Region preseason coaches poll.

The Purple Raiders have five of their top seven runners coming back last year headlined by all-region senior Jon Bach (Wadsworth). Other returners include senior Jared Marsh (Massillon / Jackson), juniors Nicky Landis (Navarre / Fairless) and Jon Wahlie (Lima / Shawnee) and sophomore Hunter Probert Midvale / Indian Valley).

Also coming back for Mount Union is senior Preston Myers (Alliance / Marlington), who finished eighth in the region at the 2016 meet.

Kevin Lucas enters his 11th season as head men's cross country coach and the Raiders have posted a top-10 finish at the Great Lakes Region meet in seven of the last eight seasons.

The season starts Friday, August 30 at the Quaker Open in Wilmington, Ohio. The Ohio Athletic Conference championship meet is November 2 in Twinsburg, Ohio, while the NCAA Great Lakes Region is November 16 at Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
