Alex Lucak Named to Academic All-District IV Softball Team

(DELAWARE, OH)--Mount Union junior Alex Lucak (Maple Heights/Trinity) was named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District IV Softball Second Team as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

It is the second straight year Lucak has earned the award and she started all 38 games so far this season and tops the Purple Raiders in hits (51), batting average (.411) and RBI (29).

She is also a two-time All-Ohio Athletic Conference pick while earning Academic All-OAC and NFCA All-Central Region First Team honors a year ago.

Off the field, she has a 3.86 cumulative grade point average as an athletic training major and is leading Mount Union as they play John Carroll Friday at 11 am in the opening game of the OAC Tournament in Ada, Ohio.

To be selected Academic All-District, a student-athlete must be a starter or key reserve with at least a 3.30 grade point average. Academic All-District First Team selections advance to the national Academic All-American ballot. Sports Information Directors within a district vote for the Academic All-District teams with members of the CoSIDA Academic All-American committee voting on the national ballot. District IV includes every NCAA Division II, III and NAIA institution in Michigan, Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee and Alabama.
