Softball Travels To Case Western Reserve Monday

The Mount Union softball team travels to Cleveland, Ohio to face Case Western Reserve in a non-conference series Monday afternoon at 3:00 p.m.

Mount Union enters Monday's series with an overall record of 16-7 and is coming off two losses to Ohio Northern in their last games. 

The Purple's Raiders staff has an ERA of 2.29 and is led by senior Rachel McAninch (West Jefferson/West Jefferson) who has a record of 9-5 and an ERA of 1.88. 

At the plate, the Raiders have a batting average of .284 and are led by junior Brittany Papp (Uniontown/Green) who is batting .421 on the season. Senior Kristen Gromes (Navarre/Fairless) leads the team in hits (30), RBI (16) and on-base-percentage (.494). 

Case Western Reserve enters Monday's series with an overall record of 16-13 and swept Oberlin in their last games. 

As a staff, the Spartans have an ERA of 3.69 and are led by Rebecca Taylor who has a record of 13-10 on the season and an ERA of 3.76. 

At the plate, the Spartans have a batting average of .324 and are led by Rachel Komar who leads the team with a .402 batting average. Gena Roberts leads the team with five home runs and 30 RBI. 

Last season, Mount Union defeated Case Western Reserve in both of its games.
