Softball: Raiders Travel to Case Western Reserve Wednesday

ALLIANCE, Ohio—The University of Mount Union women's softball team travels to Case Western Reserve for a non-conference doubleheader Wednesday, Mar. 25 at 3 and 5:30 pm.

The Purple Raiders are 9-5 on the season after sweeping Otterbein Saturday.

Leading the team is sophomore Olivia Schumacher (Gahanna/Gahanna Licoln) hitting a .537 batting average with 54 at bats and 29 hits. Close behind is sophomore Brooke Cox (Louisville/Louisville) hitting a .472 with 11 runs batted in.

Senior Leigh Siedlak (Westeville/Westerville South) is hitting a .409 while leading the team in runs batted in (12 RBI) and home runs (4 HR).

On the mound for the Raiders, junior Erin Simmons (Suffield/Field) is leading with 27 strikeouts and 48.1 innings pitched. Sophomore Allie Scalli (Parma/Parma) is 2-2 for Mount Union with one save on the year with 23 strikeouts and a 4.69 ERA.

Mount Union has a quick turnaround as they travel to Wooster Thursday, Mar. 26 to take on the Fighting Scots at 3:30 and 5:30 pm in a non-conference doubleheader.
