Softball: Raiders Look to Improve in 2016

The Mount Union women's softball team is looking for improvement as the Purple Raiders prepare for the 2016 season.

Meghan Kishman is entering her first year as interim head coach of Mount Union this season.

Nine letterman from last season return in hopes of contending for an Ohio Athletic Conference title.

All but one starting player return from a season ago that went 13-19 overall. Leading the way for the Raiders will be junior Logan Lehman (Orrville/Orrville) who earned All-OAC Honorable Mention honors. Fellow junior Allie Scali (Parma/Parma) and seniors Andi VanSickle (Loudonville/Loudonville) and Erin Simmons (Suffield/Field) will be back for the Raiders as well.

The season begins with the annual spring break trip to Clermont, Florida Feb. 25-Mar. 5 before a trip to Grove City (Pa.) Thursday, March 17 starting at 3:30 p.m. The Raiders open OAC play hosting Baldwin Wallace Friday, March 25 at the 23rd Street Field at 3:00 p.m.
