Softball: Mount Union Receiving Votes in NFCA Top 25 Poll

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Mount Union's softball team was among others receiving votes in the final 2020 national top-25 poll done by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association.

The Purple Raiders got off to the best start in school history going 12-2 in its season opening trip to Florida before the CoVID-19 pandemic cancelled the rest of the 2020 season.

Mount Union was averaging almost eight runs a game and batting .340 as a team while the pitching staff had a combined earned run average of 2.75 for fifth year head coach Meghan Simons.

Mount Unon was the only Ohio Athletic Conference team in the ranking and most of the roster should return for Mount Union in 2021 as the Raiders had just one senior -- Anna Saxton (Boardman) this past season.
