Mount Union got off to another quick start in the second half with a 16-7 burst and stretched the lead to 26 points, 51-25, when junior Nicole Plant (Columbus/Upper Arlington) nailed a three-pointer at the 16:30 mark.

The Raiders led 70-53 when Notre Dame railled with a 21-9 run to close the gap to 79-74 with 37 seconds to play before Mount Union hit four of six free throws to end the game.

Along with Wiedt, freshman Rosa LaMattina (Westlake/Westlake) had 13 points, Rose tallied 11, while senior Tessa Pohovey (Strasburg/Tusky Valley) and junior Lauren Forquer (North Canton/Green) each had 10 points to lead Mount Union to a 2-0 start to the season.
