Tessa Pohovey Named OAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week

(AUSTINTOWN, OH)--Mount Union senior Tessa Pohovey (Strasburg/Tusky Valley) was named Ohio Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week.

Pohovey averaged 17.0 points and 6.0 rebounds as she shot .667 (12-of-18) from the floor including a perfect 6-for-6 from three-point range.

She had a team-high 20 points in the Purple Raiders 87-69 win at Marietta then came back with a game-high 14 points on 5-for-5 shooting in a 77-58 win against Wilmington.

For the season, Pohovey is averaging a team-high 14.8 points per game for a Mount Union team that is 6-0 overall and 2-0 in the OAC and plays Wednesday at 7:30 pm at John Carroll in University Heights, Ohio.
