Daniel, Leitch, Lyons and Saunders Named Academic All-OAC

Aly Daniel, Marybeth Leitch, Bridget Lyons and Megan Saunders

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio – Four Mount Union women's basketball players, sophomore Aly Daniel (Willard/Willard), senior Marybeth Leitch (Rocky River/Rocky River) along with juniors Bridget Lyons (Avon Lake/Lake) and Megan Saunders (Lakewood/Lakewood) were each selected Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference.

The four are part of 76 winter student-athletes honored that each must be a sophomore or higher in class standing, maintain varsity status and have a cumulative grade-point-average of at least 3.50.

Daniel, a sport business major, received first time academic honors with a GPA of 3.77. Daniel played in all 27 games and averaged 8.4 points per game with an average of 4.8 rebounds per game.

Leitch, an early childhood education major with a GPA of 3.72 earned academic honors for the first time. Leitch played in 26 games and averaged 5.3 points per game and 5.0 rebounds per game.

Lyons, an early childhood education major with a 3.94 GPA, is a first-time selection who came off the bench in 24 games and averaged 1.5 points and 1.6 rebounds per game.

Saunders received academic honors for the first time with a GPA of 3.72 as an athletic training major. Saunders played in 11 games this season for the Purple Raiders.

All three basketball players helped the Raiders finish with a third-straight 20-win season and a third place finish in the Ohio Athletic Conference.
