AT A GLANCE

The Purple Raiders will host Heidelberg in an Ohio Athletic Conference matchup on Saturday afternoon at 3:00 pm. The Raiders are coming into Saturday's game having been dealt their first loss of the season when they lost in the OAC conference opener at John Carroll on Wednesday (Dec. 4), 82-64.

Heidelberg (5-1, 0-1) is also coming into the game having lost in their home opener to Capital 75-59.

THE SERIES

Mount Union holds a 32-29 all-time record in the series between the two schools. The Raiders have won 12 straight including the last meeting on January 19 when the Raiders defeated Heidelberg 96-85 in Alliance, Ohio.

THE COACHES

Suzy Venet (Mount Union '98)

is in her ninth season as head coach at Mount Union. Venet played for the Purple Raiders and holds numerous school records, including most points in a season (587 in 1997-98), most career assists (843), career triple-doubles (10) and is fifth on the all-time scoring list (1,528 points). Since taking over, she brought the Raiders back to being one of the nation's top programs, three OAC Tournament titles, two OAC regular season titles, and three straight trips to the NCAA tournament including to the Sweet 16 in 2010 and 2012.

Morgan Shriver (Heidelberg '09)

is in her first season as head coach at Heidelberg. Shriver was a four-year letterwinner and holds the Student Princes record with seven 3-pointers in a game.

SCOUTING THE BERG

Heidelberg is coming into the Saturday's matchup, having lost to Capital in an OAC matchup 75-59.

The Berg average 80.7 points per game, ranked fifth in the conference and average 45.2 rebounds per game, ranking them second in the OAC.

Senior Kathleen Phillips leads the Berg with 22.2 points per game and is ranked second in the conference, while fellow senior Kyra Domey averages 6.8 rebounds per contest.

BACK TO BUSINESS

The Raiders are still leading the conference averaging 82.5 points per game and holding their opponents to 65.7 points per game.

Sophomore Annie Bova (Parma Heights/Beaumont) leads the Raiders and is ranked fifth in the conference averaging 15.7 points per game, while junior Nancy Osborne (Canton/GlenOak) is second in scoring on the team averaging 10.2 points per game and leads the conference in three point percentage 63.6 (14-22).

Sophomore Sarah Grippi (Venetia, Pa./Peters Township) is shooting 74 percent of free throws (20-of-27), remaing at the top of the OAC.
