ALLIANCE, Ohio – The Mount Union women's basketball fell to Heidelberg 73-66 in an Ohio Athletic Conference matchup Saturday at the McPherson Academic and Athletic Complex in Alliance, Ohio.
With the loss, Mount Union drops to 5-2 overall and 0-2 in the conference.
Senior Kathleen Phillps had a game-high 25 points, and had eight rebounds leading the way for the Berg (6-1, 1-1 OAC).
The lead changed hands four times and tied three times in the first half before Mount Union would go on a 14-3 run taking their largest lead of 11 points at the 9:46 mark, 25-14.
Heidelberg rallied to outscore Mount Union, 24-6, the rest of the half to take a 38-31 lead into halftime.
The Raiders would pull within two of the Berg at the 16:20 mark of the second half, 43-41, but Mount Union would then go seven minutes with just one field goal as Heidelberg went on 13-4 run that would take the lead back out 58-45.
Mount Union would only get as close as six points the rest of the way.
Mount Union travels to Westerville, Ohio to take on Otterbein in an OAC game at the Rike Center, at 3 pm on Saturday, December 14th.
