BEREA, Ohio -- The Mount Union women's basketball team fell to Baldwin Wallace 73-52 in an Ohio Athletic Conference matchup Wednesday at Ursprung Gymnasium in Berea, Ohio.
Mount Union drops to 5-4 overall and is 0-4 in the conference.
Senior Lexi Rohrbach had a game-high 23 points and senior Jessica Lairson had eight rebounds to lead the way for the Yellow Jackets (7-2, 3-1 OAC).
Baldwin Wallace would jump out to a 4-0 lead before Bova would hit back-to-back three balls to take their largest lead 6-4 with 16:25 left in the first.
The Raiders would take a 10-9 lead off two free throws from Cassi Bowen (Brunswick/Brunswick) with 11:06 left in the first. The Yellow Jackets would sink a three-ball seconds before time expired in the first half leading 29-25.
The Yellow Jackets would open the second half on a 5-0 run before Chandler Moore (Girard, Pa./Girard) would make a lay-up with 17:34 left in the game giving Baldwin Wallace only a 7 point lead. This would be the closest the Raiders would come before the Yellow Jackets would take control for the remainder of the game and go on for the 73-52 victory.
The Raiders take a small break before traveling to Ohio Wesleyan for the Hoops for Hope Tournament December 29-30. The Raiders will tip-off at 8 pm against Adrian (Mich.) on the 29th.
