ALLIANCE, Ohio--Mount Union's women's basketball lost an Ohio Athletic Conference contest, 74-53, Wednesday night to the Yellow Jackets of Baldwin Wallace.
The Purple Raiders (10-10, 4-9 OAC) were led by junior guard Chandler Moore (Girard, Pa. / Girard) who posted a career-high and game-high 18 points and eight rebounds.
Baldwin Wallace had three players in double figures, Jessica Lairson had 13 points leading the way for the Yellow Jackets (15-5, 10-3 OAC).
In the first half there were tie scores on six different occasions with the last being 21-21 with 6:00 minutes left in the first half. The two teams traded baskets as Baldwin Wallace took a three point advantage, 34-31, into halftime.
Mount Union came out of the locker room and scored the first four points to take their final lead 35-34. Two more ties occurred, 37-37 with 16:20 remaining and 39-39 with 15:28 left in the game. Baldwin Wallace would then break off a 34-10 run to take a 24-point advantage.
The Yellow Jackets would go on to win by a final count of 74-53.
Mount Union will next take on Otterbein Saturday at 3 pm at the McPherson Academic and Athletic Complex in Alliance.
