NEW CONCORD, Ohio – Mount Union's women's basketball team lost 62-55 Wednesday night to Muskingum in Ohio Athletic Conference action.
The Purple Raiders (11-11, 5-10 OAC) were led by junior Chandler Moore (Girard, Pa / Girard) with 16 points, while freshman Robyn Brown (Woodland Hills, Ca / Chaminade College Prep.) chipped in with 12 points.
Muskingum (6-15, 4-11 OAC) was paced by seniors Tori Jarrett who scored a game-high 19 points and Meghan Billick had 11 points.
Muskingum jumped out to a six point lead by scoring eight of the game's first 10 points. Mount Union then scored eight of the next 10 points to tie the game 10-10 with 12:20 remaining in the first half.
Muskingum went on a 12-6 run to regain its six point advantage, 22-16, with just under six minutes in the half. The Raiders came back with a 12-5 run to take their first lead of the game at 28-27 with 1:48 before halftime. Mount Union would take a 32-30 lead into the break.
The Muskies came out of the locker room and went on an 11-2 run to take their biggest lead of the game, 41-34, with 15:00 left in the game.
After a 7-0 Mount Union run the game was tied, 41-41, and would later be tied 51-51 before Muskingum went on an 11-4 to end the game.
Mount Union will next be in OAC action Saturday February 15 in Ada, Ohio against Ohio Northern at 3:00 pm.
