Women's Basketball: Raiders Lose in Overtime to Baldwin Wallace

ALLIANCE, Ohio- Mount Union's women's basketball team defeated/lost to Marietta xx-xx in an Ohio Athletic Conference game Wednesday night. 

Annie Bova (Parma Heights/Beaumont) led the Purple Raiders with xx points while xxxxxx added xx as Mount Union is now 14-6 overall and 8-5 in the OAC.

The Pioneers (xx-x, xx-x OAC) were led by Corrie Burkhardt with xx points. 

The Raiders would trail the Pioneers by one point half way through the first quarter until two back to back three-pointers from Rachel Tinkey (Canfield/Canfield) around the three minute mark put Mount Union up 16-9. A buzzer beater lay-up by Sarah Grippi (/) would keep the Raiders in the lead, 25-12, at the end of the period. 

Mount Union would lead Marietta up to 16 points in the second quarter. The Pioneers would only cut down the Raiders lead to 11 as Mount Union would go into the half up 44-32. 

In the third quarter, Mount Union would go on a 15-6 run and have their biggest lead of the game, 67-40, at the 3:23 mark. The Raiders would lead 72-48 going into the last quarter of the game. 

The Raiders would keep their strong lead with the Pioneers not being able to come within xx points of them the rest of the way. 

Mount Union hosts Heidelberg Saturday, Feb. 13 at 3 p.m. in the McPherson Academic and Athletic Complex for Senior Day.
