Women's Basketball: Purple Raiders Defeated by #5 Scranton (Pa.) in Rochester, N.Y.

ROCHESTER, N.Y. - The Mount Union women's basketball team fell to No. 5 ranked Scranton (Pa.) 70-36 in the Chuck Resler Invitational Tournament at the University of Rochester Friday afternoon. 

Junior Erin White (West Chester/Lakota East) had eight points and nine rebounds while freshman Tori Rappach (Warren/Howland) hit a pair of three pointers and scored seven points to lead the Purple Raiders (1-1). 

Scranton (1-0) was led by Alexix Roman with 15 points. 

The Purple Raiders trailed 25-6 at the end of the first quarter then Scranton out-scored Mount Union 14-7 in the second quarter and led 39-13 at the half.

Mount Union will play No. 7 ranked and host Rochester (N.Y.) or New Paltz (N.Y.) in a consolation game on Saturday, Nov. 19 at 3 p.m.
