ALLIANCE, Ohio -- The Mount Union women's basketball team suffered an 81-51 loss to Ohio Athletic Conference opponent Baldwin Wallace Wednesday night in the McPherson Academic and Athletic Complex.

Senior Abbey Bartoszewicz (Wexford, Pa./Vincentian Academy) led Mount Union (12-12, 7-10 OAC) with 15 points and seven rebounds.

Baldwin Wallace (20-4, 13-4 OAC) was led by Hannah Fecht who recorded 16 points and eight rebounds.

The lead changed five times in the opening minutes of play before Baldwin Wallace went on an 8-2 run to lead Mount Union 16-9 with 3:31 on the clock. Sophomore Jaime Sanborn (Twinsburg/Twinsburg) made a layup and Hannah Ferguson (Columbus/Westerville North) sunk a jump-shot to cut the Yellow Jackets' lead to five points. Bartoszewicz made a three-pointer to cut the lead to two, 18-16, but five unanswered points by Baldwin Wallace had the Raiders trailing 23-16 at the end of ten minutes.

Baldwin Wallace led the Raiders by as many as 12 points in the second quarter. Freshman Tori Rappach (Cranberry, Pa./Seneca Valley) sunk a three-pointer at the 5:46 mark to bring the Raiders within seven points of the Yellow Jackets, 29-22, but it wasn't enough to spark the run Mount Union needed. The Raiders trailed Baldwin Wallace 36-24 at the break.

Mount Union trailed by as few as nine and as many as 20 points in the third quarter. Bartoszewicz recorded nine of the Raiders' 14 points after sinking two three-pointers and making a free throw and layup. Junior Casey Morrissette (Wakeman/Firelands) added four points from two layups, but the team trailed Baldwin Wallace 57-38 going into the final period of the game.

Rappach made her second three-pointer of the game while four Raiders sunk jump-shots in the final quarter, but a 24-13 run by Baldwin Wallace put away the game for the Yellow Jackets.
