AUSTINTOWN, Ohio -- Mount Union's women's basketball team has three athletes named to the 2018-19 All-Ohio Athletic Conference teams.
Senior guard Rachel Tinkey (Canfield) represents the Purple Raiders on the first team, while junior guard Tori Rappach (Warren/Howland) and senior forward Jaime Sanborn (Twinsburg) receive honorable mention.
This is Tinkey's second all-conference selection after being named to the second team last season. The senior captain played and started all 26 games as she led the team in scoring with an average of 14.8 points per game, making her fourth in the OAC. With 386 points on the year, Tinkey became the 16th Mount Union women's basketball player to score 1,000 points as she concludes her career with a total of 1,072 points.
Rappach receives her first conference honor after playing all 26 games with 25 starts. Averaging 12.2 points a game, she was Mount Union's second leading scorer and broke the program record for three-pointers in a game with nine against Wilmington (12/8/18). Rappach currently leads all of Division III with 3.65 three's a game and is fourth among all divisions in the category. At 42.0% from behind the arc, Rappach is second in the conference leaderboard for three-point percentage.
Sanborn, who received honorable a year ago, played and started in all 26 games this season as the team's third leading scorer. She averaged 9.6 points per game while shooting 57.3% to lead the team in field goal percentage and land second in the conference. In her final season as a Raider, Sanborn also averaged 4.8 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game and posted two double-doubles.
Mount Union ended its season after the OAC Tournament Quarterfinals to finish with an overall record of 17-9 and 10-8 in the OAC.
