Suzy Venet is in her ninth season as head women's basketball coach at Mount Union and coaches the Purple Raiders with the same drive, desire and dedication she showed as a two-time Ohio Athletic Conference Player of the Year and All-American for the Purple Raiders.
In 2011-12, Venet has led the Raiders to a 28-2 record, a school-record 23-game win streak, OAC regular season and tournament titles, advanced to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA and a No. 6 national ranking. She also led the team to a third straight OAC Tournament title and second straight regular season title.
Since taking over as coach, she has brought the Raiders back to being one the nation’s top programs as they are coming off a 28-win season, three OAC Tournament titles, two OAC regular season titles and three-straight trips to the NCAA Tournament including making it to the Sweet 16 in 2010 and 2012. Venet was named the OAC Coach of the Year in 2011 and 2012 and Great Lakes Region Coach of the Year by both the WBCA and D3Hoops.com in 2010 and 2012.
Before returning to Alliance, Venet spent a season as head coach at Manchester (IN) College, where she guided the Spartans to a seven-win improvement from the year prior to her arrival. Venet also spent time as an assistant coach at Bowling Green State University and Minnesota State University in Mankato, MN.
As a player, Venet was part of the most successful women's basketball runs in school history as the Raiders made three trips to the NCAA Division III Tournament finishing second in the nation in 1996. Mount Union also won a school-record 29 games, the OAC title and was third in the nation in 1998. She finished with numerous school records, including most points in a season (587 in 1997-98), most career assists (843), career triple-doubles (10) and is fourth on the all-time scoring list (1,528 points).
Venet, who graduated from Mount Union in 1998 with degrees in sports medicine and physical education, resides in Alliance with her husband Bruce, daughter, Bailee and son Marty.
Caitlin Carroll

Caitlin Carroll is in her fifth season as an assistant women's basketball coach at Mount Union.
Carroll coaches the junior varsity program and fills a variety of administrative roles within the program. She is familiar with the program as she was a four-year member and three-year letterwinner for the Purple Raiders.
Carroll, who earned a bachleor's degree in psychology in 2007 from Mount Union, resides in Alliance.
Tony Sokol

Veteran assistant coach Tony Sokol is in his sixth season as an assistant women's basketball coach at Mount Union.
Sokol has been an assistant boys basketball coach at Marlington High School (2001-04) and Alliance High School (1998-00). He served as an assistant men's basketball coach at Mount Union (1990-97), including the Purple Raiders OAC Championship and NCAA Tournament team in 1997.
Sokol earned a bachelor's degree in education from the University of Akron in 1973 and a master's degree in education from the University of Dayton in 1984. He and his LuAnn along with daughter Emily reside in Alliance.
Janel Iden

Janel Iden is in her third season as an assistant women's basketball coach at Mount Union.
Iden played in 79 games over four seasons at OAC rival Otterbein. She graduated from Otterbein with a bachelor's degree in organizational communications.
The Zanesville, Ohio, native works as a database specialist within Office of Admissions at Mount Union.
