OAC Women's Golf Awards Handed Out; Snode Sweeps All-OAC and Academic All-OAC Honors

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio -- Mount Union junior Mary Snode (Alliance/Marlington) claimed All-OAC First Team Women's Golf and Academic All-OAC honors as she was one of four Purple Raider women's golfers recognized by the conference.

For Snode it is the second straight year she has been named to both the all-conference team by the coaches and Academic All-OAC by the faculty athletics representatives.  She posted a team-best 80.9 stroke average and placed in the top 10 in all 10 events she played in this past year including a second place finish at the OAC Championships.  Off the course, she is a mathematics major with a 3.77 grade point average.

Senior Erica Swanger (Shelby/Shelby) and sophomore Alyssa King (Twinsburg/Twinsburg) were both named Academic All-OAC as well.  Swanger played in six events, posted a third place finish at the Mount Union Fall Invite and recently graduated with a degree in health and a 3.59 grade point average.  King, an education major with a 3.69 grade point average, played in 10 events with a top finish of 15th at the Phipps Memorial.

To be named Academic All-OAC, a student-athlete must be a starter or key reserve with at least a 3.25 cumulative grade point average.

Junior Megan Zenobi (Novelty/West Geagua) was also All-OAC honorable mention selection.  Zenobi played in 10 events and had four top-10 finishes this season including second at the Mount Union Fall Invitational.

Mount Union placed fourth at this past year's OAC Championship.
