Mary Snode's Record Round Leads Women's Golf to Victory at Mount Union Spring Invite
ALLIANCE, Ohio -- Mount Union senior Mary Snode (Alliance/Marlington) posted a career-best and school record round of 69 to card a two-day total of even par (144) to claim medalist honors and lead the Purple Raiders to the team title at the Mount Union Spring Invite Sunday at Tannenhauf Golf Club in Alliance.
After a three-over 75 on Saturday, she closed out her Sunday round with a 32 on back nine to finish with the record round of 69 and her seventh straight medalist honor dating back through the fall season.
The Purple Raiders had a team score of 331 on Sunday and along with their 326 on Saturday gave them a two-day total of 657 which was 12 strokes better than Otterbein (339-330=669).
Baldwin-Wallace was in third place with a 676 (342-334) while Mercyhurst (Pa.) (343-360=703) and Capital (351-358=709) rounded out the top five spots.
Mount Union will compete next weekend at the Capital Purple & White Invite with Friday's round at Westchester Golf Course in Canal Winchester, Ohio then Saturday's round at The Players Club at Foxfire Golf Club in Lockbourne, Ohio.
