Women's Golf: Raiders Place Second at Carnegie Mellon Spring Invitational

VERONA, Pa.- Mount Union women's golf team finished second at the Carnegie Mellon Spring Invitational Wednesday afternoon at the Longue Vue Club.

The Purple Raiders carded a team score of 357 which was 27 strokes behind first place team Carnegie Mellon with a 334. Grove City College came in third place with a final score of 512.

Sophomore Erica Mawhorr (Zainesville/West Muskingum) led Mount Union tied for sixth place with a score of 87 as junior Allison Pastor (Sagamore Hills/Nordonia) was one stroke behind her placing eighth with a score of 88.

Freshman Rachel Markle (Solon/Solon) was also placed in the top 10 finishing tenth with a score of 90.

Mount Union next travels to Sunbury, Ohio to play in the Otterbein Invitational Friday, April 14 at the Northstar Golf Course.
