Women's Golf: Mount Union Wins the Yellow Jacket Invitational; Pastor Earns Medalist Honors

COLUMBIA STATION, Ohio -- Senior Allison Pastor (Nordonia / Sagamore Hills) led the Mount Union womens golf team to the team title at the Yellow Jacket Invitational Sunday at Mallard Creek.

Pastor, who was the day one leader after firing an 85, bested her score by shooting an 83 on Sunday for a career-low total of 168 earning the medalist honors for the tournament.

Mount Union shot a team total of 340 on the second day. They had a two day total of 687 which was 11 strokes ahead of second place Capital.

Behind Pastor was fellow senior, Olivia DeMartino (Canfield / Canfield) who shot an 84 and two day total of 170 which was second overall. Sophomore, Rachel Markle (Solon / Solon) shot a second round 85 for a total of 173 and finished in a tie for third overall. Fellow classmate, Morgan Stubbendieck (Hoban / Akron) shot an 88 for a total of 177 for a tie for seventh overall. Rounding out the top five for Mount Union was senior, Hannah Edwards (Beaver Local l Wellsville) who shot 91 for a total of 179 which was a tie for 10th. 

The womens golf team will be in action again Sunday, September 10 as they host the Mount Union Invitational at Tannenhauf Golf Club.
