Women's Golf: Mount Union Finish First at Baldwin Wallace Fall Invite

COLUMBIA STATION, Ohio—Mount Union's women's golf finished in first place at the Baldwin Wallace Fall Invite after a 36-hole total of 339-347=686 at Mallard Creek Golf Club.

The Purple Raiders out-shot second place Capital by seven shots and were 14 clear of third place John Carroll.

Junior Rachel Markle (Solon) was Purple Raiders top finisher as she carded a two-day total of 166 (82-84) to be tied for second place which was five shots behind medalist Sarah Beckwith of John Carroll with a 161 (79-82).

Another top five performance came from fellow junior Morgan Stubbendieck (Akron / Hoban) shot an 84 and an 85 for a 169 to place in fourth. 

The rest of team score came from sophomores Brianna Potts (Apple Creek/Waynedale) in eighth place (86-91=177) and Emma Jeffries (Wooster) in 10th (91-87=188).

The Raiders will be back in action Sunday, September 9 as they host the Mount Union Invitational at Tannenhauf Golf Club.
