Women’s Golf: Raiders Sit in First Place After Day One of John Carroll Invitational

HUDSON, Ohio--Mount Union's women's golf team stands in first place with a combined score of 335 after day one at the John Carroll Fall Invitational.

The Purple Raiders were led by juniors Rachel Markle (Solon) and Morgan Stubbendieck (Akron/Hoban) who shot an 82 on the day to sit tied for first.

Sophomore Emma Jeffries (Wooster) followed them with a score of 85 and tied for fifth place. Rounding out the Mount Union scorecard were freshman Maura Knox (Akron/St. Vincent-St. Mary), who completed the day with an 86 for seventh, while sophomore Brianna Potts (Apple Creek/Waynedale) and sophomore Gianna Flasco (Stow) both stand tied for eighth after shooting a 91 on day one.

The Raiders will look for their third consecutive victory when they tee off for day two of the invitational tomorrow morning at Hudson Country Club.
