Women’s Golf: Raiders Win John Carroll Fall Invitational

HUDSON, Ohio – Mount Union's women's golf team shot a two-day total of 675 to win the John Carroll Invitational held Sunday and Monday at Hudson Country Club.

The Purple Raiders, who won for the second time this fall, bested second place John Carroll (702) by 27 strokes

Junior Morgan Stubbendieck (Akron/Hoban) was the Raiders top finisher as she recorded a two-day total of 166 (82-84) for third place which was two strokes behind co-medalists Sarah Beckwith of John Carroll and Anna Schatschneider of Baldwin Wallace who each shot a 164.

Sophomore Emma Jeffries (Wooster) shot a 168 (85-83) for fourth place while freshman Maura Knox (Akron/St. Vincent-St. Mary) rounded out the top five performers with a 170 (86-84).

The rest of the team score came from junior Rachel Markle (Solon) in sixth (82-89=171).

The Purple Raiders return to the golf course on Saturday, September 29 as they participate in the OAC Fall Preview in Coshocton, Ohio at the River Greens Golf Course.
