HOUSTON, Texas -- Mount Union's women's golf team moved up to 20th place on day two of the NCAA Championships Wednesday at Bay Oaks Country Club.
The Purple Raiders scored a 349 after a 357 opening day score to total 706 and eight strokes behind 19th place Central College.
New York University took over the lead of the 25 team field with a two-day total of 613 (311-302).
Mount Union was once again led by junior Rachel Markle (Solon) who had an 84 today along with an 86 in round one for a 36-hole total of 170.
Sophomore Emma Jeffries (Wooster) was right behind Markle as she posted an 81 today and a 91 on day one for a 172.
Junior Morgan Stubbendieck (Akron / Hoban) tallied a 94 on day two and an 88 yesterday for a 182 while sophomore Brianna Potts (Apple Creek / Waynedale) improved her score from the previous day by two strokes scoring a 90 on day two for a 182 total.
Junior Erica Mawhorr (Zanesville / West Muskingum) finished off the team score with a 96 and has a two-day total of 193.
The Raiders are back on the course Thursday, May 16 with an 8:50 a.m. tee time at Bay Oaks Country Club.
