Mount Union Women's Lacrosse Schedule Announced; Raiders Host Oberlin in First-Ever Game March 2
Mount Union will host Oberlin in the program's first-ever women's lacrosse game Saturday, March 2 at noon in Mount Union Stadium.
The Purple Raiders have been building for that day since May of 2011 when it was announced that the program would be added on campus.
Mount Union will compete as an independent in 2013 with road games to fellow Ohio Athletic Conference schools Wilmington (Mar. 16), Otterbein (April 21) and Baldwin Wallace (April 23). The OAC will sponsor a championship in the sport in 2014 when Capital and John Carroll both add teams then Muskingum comes on board in 2015 giving the conference enough teams for an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
There are eight home dates on the schedule against regional foes Franciscan, Hiram, Ohio Wesleyan, Olivet (Mich.) and St. Vincent (Pa.) along with Houghton (N.Y.) and Hilbert (N.Y.).
All home games will be played in Mount Union Stadium.
