ALLIANCE, Ohio – Mount Union's women's lacrosse picks up win number two with a shutout over Franciscan Saturday afternoon at Mount Union Stadium.

The Purple Raiders (2-1) were led by freshman Susie Kraus (Sewickley, Pa/Quaker Valley) who tallied seven points on the game with five goals and two assists. Freshman Emily Bergert (North Canton/Hoover) tallied five points for the Raiders with four goals and one assist.

Mount Union had three players record a hat trick for the game led by Kraus and Bergert. Freshman Anna Lano (Chaska, Minn./Chanhassen) scored the third hat trick for the Raiders.

The Lady Barons (1-5) were led by sophomore Bethany Potvin with two groundballs as well as freshman Emily Bedard with two groundballs.

The Raiders scored 16 seconds into the game as Bergert took the ball off the draw control to the goal. This goal marks the quickest goal in Mount Union's Women's Lacrosse program history to date. 

Mount Union took a 14-0 lead into halftime. The Raiders came out in the second half and put seven more goals in to take the 21-0 victory. Marks Mount Union's first program shut out.

Mount Union travels to Wilmington Saturday, March 16th at 2:00 pm in Wilmington, Ohio.
