ALLIANCE, Ohio – Mount Union's women's lacrosse team won over Hiram Tuesday evening 17-0 at Mount Union Stadium.

The Purple Raiders (3-1) were led by freshmen duo Susie Kraus (Sewickley, Pa./Quaker Valley) and Ashley Christensen (Champlin, Minn./Champlin Park) as they both tallied five points in the game. Kraus scored four goals and had one assist as Christensen scored twice and had three assists.

Freshman Anna Lano (Chaska, Minn./Chanhassen) and Kraus both tallied hattricks for the Raiders. 

The Terriers (2-3) were led by JoLyn Grover who had four ground balls in the competition as goalie Rebecca Greenhouse had 10 saves for Hiram on 41 shots.

Mount Union jumped out to the early lead when Christensen connected with Kraus to give the Raiders the 1-0 lead at 29:37 remaining in the first half. The Raiders would score 10 more times before going into halftime with a 11-0 lead.

The Raiders would score while man down as freshman Emily Bergert (North Canton/Hoover) would find the back of the net on a pass from Christensen with 22:33 remaining in the second half. Mount Union would go on to the 17-0 victory as they had 10 assists on 17 goals.

Mount Union hosts Ohio Wesleyan Saturday, March 23rd at 1 PM at Mount Union Stadium.
