Women's Lacrosse Travels To Baldwin Wallace Tuesday

Raiders Travel to Baldwin Wallace Tuesday
The Purple Raiders (11-1) travel to Berea, Ohio to take on Baldwin Wallace (4-5) Tuesday, April 23rd at 7:00 pm. Mount Union enters Tuesday's game after picking up two wins this past weekend, one on Friday over St. Vincent, 17-1 and one at Otterbein 15-5 on Sunday. The Raiders take on the Yellow Jackets with having the number one scoring defense and scoring offense in NCAA Division III (April 14).

Kraus and Hamilton Highlight Win Over Otterbein
Eight different players accounted for Mount Union's 15 goals in the Raiders' 10-goal win over Otterbein in Westerville on April 21st. Of the eight Raiders, freshman duo Susie Kraus (Sewickley, Pa./Quaker Valley) and Shawney Hamilton (Kent/Kent Roosevelt) scored four goals apiece leading Mount Union. Kraus and Hamilton each tallied five points in the victory with four goals and one assist. Freshman Kendyl Stone (Brunswick/Brunswick) finished the game with four points as well with one goal and three assists.

The two hat-tricks on April 21st marked the third time of 12 games that the team has had only two players or fewer score hat-tricks. 

Raiders Streaks
The win-streak for the Raiders has been extended to 11 games after two victories this past weekend. Mount Union has been outscoring their opponents 219-40 on the season, with two consecutive shut-outs the Raiders look to end the season on a streak.

The hat-trick streak for Mount Union continues as they had two players' record hat-tricks in their win at Otterbein. Mount Union has recorded a victory when two or more players score hat-tricks in a game for the Raiders going into Tuesday's game. The only loss this season for the Raiders is the first game of program history when they fell 8-7 to Oberlin on March 2nd with no players scoring a hat-trick. 

Freshman duo Emily Bergert (North Canton/Hoover) and Stone lead the team in number of games with a goal, at 12 games. The two have scored in each game of the season combining for a season total of 52 goals. Bergert is tied for second, with Taylor Pensyl (Kent/Kent Roosevelt), for longest streak of multi-goal games with 10 games just one game shy of Kraus who leads the team with 11 multi-goal games. 

Baldwin Wallace – 4-5
Baldwin Wallace enters the game Tuesday after picking up a win at Franciscan on Saturday, April 20th. The Yellow Jackets were led by Victoria Budzyn who tallied three points on three goals in the victory over the Barons. Budzyn's first goal gave BW the lead going into halftime 3-2 before she scored two goals in the second half to break the 4-4 tie and put the Jackets up by two.  

On the season Budzyn leads the Jackets in points and goals with 21 season points on 21 goals scored. Ellen Fedick leads BW in assists with three on the season as Colleen Bodkin leads the team in groundballs with 43. Budzyn takes the draw-control category with 24.
