Women's Lacrosse: Raiders Face-Off against Franciscan in West Virginia and Host Olivet This Week

Mount Union women's lacrosse team travels to Bethany (W.Va.) College today as they face-off against Franciscan at 4 pm and returns to Alliance to host Olivet (Mich.) Saturday at 1 pm at Mount Union Stadium in Alliance.

The Purple Raiders are 2-1 on the season and on a two-game win streak after a 13-6 victory against Kenyon Sunday.

Sophomore Katherine Doraty (Medina/Medina) leads the Raiders on offense with 12 goals, has four assists and 16 points.

Fellow sophomores Taylor Pensyl (Kent/Kent Roosevelt) and Casey McHenry (Hudson/Hudson) pace the Raider defense as Kraus has a team-best nine ground balls and eight caused turnovers while McHenry has started all three goals in the net and is fourth in the OAC in saves.

Franciscan is 1-3 overall as the Barons are coming off a 12-9 loss to Lourdes on Sunday.

Tracy McClelland has a team-high 12 goals while Bethany Potvin has nine caused turnovers and 11 ground balls.

The teams played a year ago and Mount Union won 21-0 in Alliance.

Olivet is 0-1 overall and the Comets suffered a 20-6 loss to Aquinas (Mich.) on Tuesday.

Geri Merrell leads the team with three goals while Mackenzie Inman leads the team with three ground balls and four draw controls.

Mount Union has a road game next Monday, March 24 in Delaware, Ohio against Ohio Wesleyan.
