Women's Lacrosse: Mount Union Hosts Thiel Wednesday; Raiders Have Won Seven Straight

Mount Union's women's lacrosse team hosts Thiel (Pa.) in a non-conference game Wednesday at 4 pm at Mount Union Stadium.

After a season opening loss in overtime, the Purple Raiders (7-1) have won seven straight games including a 14-10 win last Saturday at Adrian (Mich.).

On the season, Mount Union has out-scored its opposition, 193-72.

Sophomore Katherine Doraty (Medina/Medina) leads the team and is fourth in the Ohio Athletic Conference with 24 goals, 13 assists and 37 points.

Freshman Emily Sendker (Lancaster, N.Y./Lancaster Central) is second on the team 21 goals and 26 points.

Sophomore Taylor Pensyl (Kent/Kent Roosevelt) has 12 caused turnovers while her and fellow sophomore Kolbie Haines (Hudson/Hudson) have 23 draw controls.

In goal, sophomore Casey McHenry (Hudson/Hudson) is fourth in the OAC with 34 saves and has an 8.94 goals against average.

Thiel is 5-5 on the season and the Tomcats have won five straight games including a 13-3 win this past Sunday against Wilmington.

Cassy Mahdi leads the team with 39 goals and 46 points followed by Emily Harrigan with 26 goals and 32 points.

Amy Boxer has a 3-1 record in goal for the Tomcats with 17 saves and a 10.69 goals against average.
