Women's Lacrosse: Mount Union Wins 12th Straight with Shutout at Wilmington

WILMINGTON, Ohio -- Mount Union's women's lacrosse team scored a 22-0 win at Wilmington in an Ohio Athletic Conference game Friday in Wilmington.

The Purple Raiders are now 12-1 overall, 2-0 in the OAC and have won 12 straight games.

Sophomore Katherine Doraty (Medina/Medina) had five goals -- all in the first half -- while sophomores Taylor Pensyl (Kent/Kent Roosevelt) and Kelsey Shewbridge (Medina/Medina) each had three goals to lead Mount Union.

Sophomore goalie Casey McHenry (Hudson/Hudson) had two saves to win her 11th game and post her second shutout of the season.

The Raiders got on the board 26 seconds into the contest, then scored another goal in the opening minute as they led 8-0 in the game's first 10 minutes and led 14-0 at the half.

Mount Union goes on the road to play Baldwin Wallace next Wednesday, April 23 at 7 pm in Berea.
