Women's Lacrosse: Mount Union Claims Share of First OAC Title; Raiders No. 1 Seed in OAC Tourney

ALLIANCE, Ohio - Mount Union claimed a share of the first-ever Ohio Athletic Conference women's lacrosse regular season title with a 17-5 victory over Otterbein Saturday in Alliance.

The Purple Raiders (13-2, 3-1 OAC) in just their second year as a varsity sport are also the No. 1 seed in next week's OAC Tournament and will host a semifinal game in the four-team OAC Tournament next Tuesday, April 29 at 5 pm at Mount Union Stadium.

Taylor Pensyl (Kent/Kent Roosevelt), Kolbie Haines (Hudson/Hudson), Michelle Tegethoff (Marlton, N.J./Cherokee), and Susie Kraus (Sewickley, Pa./Quaker Valley) each had three goals to lead Mount Union.

Casey McHenry (Hudson/Hudson) had three saves in goal to get her 12th win of the season.

Mount Union scored three of the games first five goals in the opening 10 minutes of play. The Raiders outscored Otterbein 8-1 the rest of the half and led 11-3 at the break.

The Raiders scored the first six goals of the second half to put the game out of reach.
