Women's Lacrosse: Raiders Shut Out Polar Bears in Ada

ADA, Ohio -- The Mount Union women's lacrosse team shut out Ohio Athletic Conference opponent Ohio Northern University 16-0 Saturday afternoon at Ohio Northern. 

Mount Union (6-2, 2-0 OAC) was led by freshman Danielle Rohrman (Olney, Md./Sherwood), who scored five goals and recorded two assists.

Ohio Northern's (1-8, 0-1 OAC) Shannen Larsen Van Alstine made 15 saves on 43 shots for the Polar Bears

The Purple Raiders opened the first half with 11 unanswered goals. Rohrman tallied all seven points in the first 30 minutes, while freshman Mackenzie Pensyl (Kent/Roosevelt) scored three goals on three recorded shots. Freshman Mimi Curtis (Lititz, Pa./Manheim Township) recorded one save, putting Mount Union ahead of the Polar Bears 11-0 at half.

Junior Britt Klosterman (Centennial, Colo./Arapahoe) and sophomore McKenna Tubbs (Stow/Stow) each scored two goals in the second period to record four of the Raiders' five second-half goals. The Raiders' 16-0 win is the third shutout of the season.

Mount Union next hosts OAC opponent John Carroll University on Wednesday, April 5 at 7:30 p.m. at Mount Union Stadium.
