ADRIAN, Mich. – A balanced offensive attack resulted in a 20-3 victory for the Mount Union women's lacrosse team Saturday afternoon at Adrian (Mich.).
Ten different players scored for Mount Union (5-0) as senior Britt Klosterman (Centennial, Colo. / Arapahoe) compiled a game-high seven points with five goals and two assists while sophomore Danielle Rohrman (Olney, Md. / Sherwood) notched in four goals.
Goalie Hannah Emerson led Adrian (1-4) with 21 saves.
The Raiders took control early, scoring 10 goals in the first eight minutes of play. Mount Union closed out the half with five more goals, resulting in a 15-0 lead over the Bulldogs at halftime. Senior Marjie McNamara (Champlin, Minn. / Champlin Park) scored three goals, junior Alyssa Rydell (Medina / Medina) scored two goals and Klosterman added four assists in the half. Mount Union's defense allowed only four shots in the first half shutout.
The Raiders sustained a comfortable lead in the second half as they went on to score five additional goals in the win. Freshmen Molly McGinnis (Brunswick / Brunswick) came in at goalie for the second half and had five saves.
Mount Union next hosts Wittenberg Tuesday, Mar. 20 at 5 p.m. at Mount Union Stadium.
