NEW CONCORD, Ohio -- Mount Union's women's lacrosse team won its 13th straight game with a 21-1 win at Muskingum in an Ohio Athletic Conference game Saturday in New Concord.
The Purple Raiders remain one of only two undefeated teams in NCAA Division III at 13-0 overall and in first place in the OAC at 6-0. The win streak is the second longest in the six-year history of the program trailing the 2015 team that won 19 games in a row.
Junior Ashley Bernardi (Medina) led Mount Union with four goals and five assists and on the season now has 91 points (55 goals and 36 assists). The Raiders also got four goals from senior Katie Elder (Champlin, Minn. / Champlin Park), three each from sophomore Danielle Rohrman (Olney, Md. / Sherwood) and senior Marjie McNamara (Champlin, Minn. / Champlin Park) with sophomore Kenzie Pensyl (Kent / Roosevelt) and freshman Sydney Bumbarger (Newbury Park, Calif.) each getting two.
The Muskies (2-13, 0-7) avoided the shutout with a goal from Ashley Adams.
Mount Union ran out to a 10-0 lead in the game's first 8:06 then led 18-0 at the half before scoring four of the five second half goals for the 22-1 final.
The Raiders host Baldwin Wallace in the regular season home finale Wed., April 25 at 7 p.m. at Mount Union Stadium.
