Women's Lacrosse: Mount Union Routs Fredonia in Home Opener

ALLIANCE, Ohio -- Mount Union women's lacrosse team beat Fredonia State (N.Y.) 23-3 in the home opener Saturday at Mount Union Stadium.

Senior Ashley Bernardi (Medina) had a school record with 15 points on seven goals and a school record eight assists while junior Danielle Rohrman (Olney, Md. / Sherwood) had six goals as the Purple Raiders are now 2-1 on the season. 

Rohrman scored six times and Bernardi four times in a first half that saw Mount Union jump out to a 16-1 halftime lead.

Mount Union outscored the Blue Devils 7-2 in the second half for the 23-3 final.

Mimi Curtis (Lititz, Pa. / Manheim Township) played the first half and got the win in goal for the Raiders.

Fredonia fell to 0-1 on the season.

Mount Union next plays Tuesday, Feb. 26 at 3 p.m. at Kenyon.
