GAMBIER, Ohio -- Mount Union's women's lacrosse team scored six goals in the final 13 minutes to rally for a 9-8 win at Kenyon Tuesday in Gambier.
Ashley Bernardi (Medina) scored four goals including the game-winner with 1:24 to play to move the Purple Raiders to 3-1 on the season.
Danielle Rohrman (Olney, Md. / Sherwood) also had two goals and a game-high three assists for Mount Union.
Cassie Hudson-Heck and Julia Mahoney each had two goals and an assist for Kenyon (1-2).
A low scoring first half saw Kenyon take a 1-0 lead with a goal in the seventh minute and it stayed that way until Bernardi tied it on a free position shot with 6:35 left before halftime. Rohrman scored just over a minute later to give the Raiders a 2-1 lead at the break.
Alyssa Rydell (Medina) scored 17 seconds into the second half to extend the Mount Union lead to 3-1 but Kenyon then scored seven unanswered as Hudson-Heck's goal with 13:34 left gave Kenyon an 8-3 lead. Rohrman scored 25 seconds later that started the decisive 6-0 run that saw Bernardi score three times including the game-winner.
Mount Union plays three of its next four games at home starting Saturday at noon against DePauw (Ind.).
