Women's Lacrosse: Raiders Run Past DePauw For Third Straight Win

ALLIANCE, Ohio -- Mount Union's women's lacrosse team won its third game in a row with a 17-2 win over DePauw (Ind.) Saturday at Mount Union Stadium.

The Purple Raiders (4-1) got a game-high six goals from Danielle Rohrman (Olney, Md. / Sherwood), Ashley Bernardi (Medina) had four goals, Sydney Bumbarger (Newbury Park, Calif.) three scores, Kenzie Penysl (Kent / Roosevelt) two while Sammie Battista (North Canton / Hoover) and Sabrina Kelly (East Islip, N.Y.) each scored one.

Mimi Curtis (Lititz, Pa. / Manheim Township) had a pair of saves in the first half and got the win in goal for Mount Union.

DePauw (0-3) avoided the shutout with second half scores from Erica Rapelije and Grace Clarke.

Mount Union scored four times in the game's first 16 minutes and ran out to a 10-0 halftime lead. The Raiders scored two more in the opening seven minutes of second half before DePauw got on the board. 

Mount Union next hosts Oberlin Thursday, March 7 at 7 p.m. at Mount Union Stadium.
