Women's Lacrosse: Raiders Win Ninth Straight After Marietta Shutout

ALLIANCE, Ohio – Mount Union's women's lacrosse team made it nine straight wins with a 21-0 victory over Marietta in an Ohio Athletic Conference game Saturday night at Mount Union Stadium.

Ashley Bernardi (Medina) scored nine points on seven goals and two assists, Danielle Rohrman (Olney, Md. / Sherwood) had six points on four goals and two assists while Kenzie Pensyl (Kent / Roosevelt) had five points with three goals and two assists as the Purple Raiders are now 10-1 overall and 4-0 in the OAC.

Marietta (2-10, 0-4 OAC) is shut out for the first time in its inaugural season.

Bernardi had five goals, Rohrman four goals and Pensyl had three goals to pace a first half that saw Mount Union score 16 goals. The rest of the first half goals included two each from Alyssa Rydell (Medina) and Sydney Bumbarger (Newbury Park, Calif.).

Mimi Curtis (Lititz, Pa. / Manheim Township) played the first 30 minutes in goal and had a save for the Raiders.

Bernardi finished her night with a pair of goals in the first five minutes of the second half. The other second half goals came from Kaitlyn Murphy (Lexington, Va. / Rockbridge County), Sabrina Kelly (East Islip, N.Y.) and Delaney Allan (Olmsted Falls).

Mount Union travels to John Carroll for an OAC game Wednesday, April 10 at 7 p.m. in University Heights.
