Women's Lacrosse: Mount Union Beats The Berg For 11th Straight Win

ALLIANCE, Ohio – Mount Union's women's lacrosse team posted its 11th consecutive win with a 21-3 victory over Heidelberg in an Ohio Athletic Conference game Saturday at Mount Union Stadium.

Danielle Rohrman (Olney, Md. / Sherwood) had eight points on five goals and three assists, Kenzie Pensyl (Kent / Roosevelt) tallied five assists and a goal as 10 different Purple Raiders scored to move their record to 12-1 overall and 6-0 in the conference.

Heidelberg (7-7, 1-4 OAC) got a goal and an assist from Dana Dudley.

Heidelberg struck first with a goal from Anna Winnicki in the opening minute. The Raiders quickly answered with their first goal in the next minute from Alyssa Rydell (Medina) and it started a 7-0 Mount Union run, which included four goals from Rohrman, that made it 7-1 with 13:46 left in the first half.

The Berg got its second goal from Jen Kovarik with 12:54 left in the half to make it 7-2 but Mount Union scored five more times to bring the score to 12-2 at the break. Rohrman had five goals and Pensyl had five assists in the first half.

In the second half, Mount Union scored nine more times and Dudley scored for Heidelberg in the final minute for the 21-3 final.

Mount Union's graduating class – Ashley Bernardi (Medina), Alyssa Rydell (Medina), Megan Ronceray (Long Valley, N.J. / West Morris Central), Lisa Dalman (Champlin, Minn. / Champlin Park), McKenna Tubbs (Stow / Stow-Munroe Falls), Marlo Lile (Strongsville / Walsh Jesuit) and Mimi Curtis (Lancaster, Pa. / Manheim Township) were each honored before the start of the game.

The Raiders are back on the field Tuesday, April 16 at 4 p.m. against Adrian (Mich.).
