Schindel Named OAC Wrestler of the Week for Second Time This Season

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio -- Mount Union senior Bill Schindel (Tallmadge/Akron Hoban) was named Ohio Atheltic Conference Wrestler of the Week.  It marked the second time this year, Schindel has earned the honor.

Schindel led the No. 16 ranked Purple Raiders to an impressive third place finish at the 14-team Citrus Invitational last week in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.

He went 4-0 and won the title in 197 weight class.  Schindel, ranked No. 3 in the nation in the weight class, posted one pin and shut-out three other opponents in decision.

Mount Union is next in action on Tues. Jan. 11 when they meet nationally ranked Ohio Northern in a key OAC matchup in Ada.
